Tesco food drives

Foyle Network Foundation has thanked shoppers at Tesco after more than 1,230kg of food was collected during a recent food drive at the Lisnagelvin and Quayside stores.

The two-day appeal saw shoppers donate food and essential items to support the work of Foyle Foodbank, which continues to help families and households across the city.

Karen Mullan, Director of Foyle Network Foundation, said the response to the food drive has been incredible.

“At a time when many families and households are still under real pressure from rising living costs, every single item donated will make a difference.

“We want to thank everyone who supported the appeal, whether they donated one item, a full bag of shopping, or simply stopped to speak to our staff and volunteers.

“Our thanks also go to the teams at Tesco Lisnagelvin and Tesco Quayside for their support, and to everyone who gave their time to help make the Food Drive such a success.”

Foyle Foodbank supports people across Derry who are facing food poverty and financial hardship, providing food, household essentials and practical support to those who need it most.

Karen added: “The need is still very real, and the support we receive from the public allows us to continue helping people when they need it most.

“We are extremely grateful to everyone who contributed. Your generosity will make a real difference to families and households across the city.”
