Foyle Network Foundation becomes a living wage employer

2nd February 2025

Proud to be a Living Wage Employer

We are delighted to announce that we have officially become a Living Wage Employer.

As advocates for addressing income disparity, the Foyle Network Foundation has always prioritised paying employees a Real Living Wage or above. Recognising that many individuals rely on our services due to inadequate incomes, we believe it’s crucial to lead by example.

Our commitment to paying a fair wage aligns with our mission to promote dignity and respect within our community. By demonstrating leadership as a Living Wage Employer, we hope to inspire other organisations to adopt similar practices, contributing to a broader societal shift toward fair pay.

Our Trustees ensure salaries align with the NJC (National Joint Council) scale and incorporate the Real Living Wage into all funding applications. Pay scales are determined based on the role and responsibilities, with annual pay increases implemented in line with NJC recommendations. These adjustments are made regardless of funders’ provisions, reflecting our dedication to fair compensation.

Accreditation solidifies our role as advocates for fair wages and strengthens our campaign efforts to encourage other employers to become Living Wage Employers. It enhances our reputation as a responsible employer, further boosting employee morale and aligning our practices with our mission to foster equity and empowerment.

Our Director, Karen Mullan notes:

“At Foyle Network Foundation, we see the real impact of inadequate incomes every day. Paying our employees the Real Living Wage is about more than just fair compensation; it’s about practicing the values we advocate for. We’re proud to lead by example and encourage others to join us in ensuring dignity and financial stability for all.”
